Changes to Finanstilsynet

Organisational changes adopted by Finanstilsynet will take effect on 1 June 2013. As from that date the supervisory areas will be assigned to two departments – Banking and Insurance Supervision and Capital Markets Supervision. The latter largely comprises the previous Department for Capital Markets Supervision and the Department for Accounting and Auditing Supervision. Certain changes are also made to section structure within and between departments. In addition, department and section names are updated. Certain changes in section management also take effect on 1 June.
Department for Banking and Insurance Supervision
This department essentially continues the previous Department for Finance and Insurance Supervision, and is supplemented by the Section for IT and Payment Systems. Some adjustments are made to the allocation of functions between sections.
The department, headed by Deputy Director General Emil R. Steffensen, comprises the following sections:
Licensing and Crisis Management – Head of Section Ole-Jørgen Karlsen
Capital Adequacy and Solvency Regulation – Head of Section Bjørn Andersen
Banking Supervision – Head of Section Per Jostein Brekke
Insurance Supervision – Head of Section Runa K. Sæther
IT and Payment Systems – Head of Section Frank Robert Berg
Analysis and Reporting – Head of Section Anne Stine Aakvaag
Macroeconomic Surveillance – Head of Section Harald Johansen
Department for Capital Markets Supervision
This department comprises the previous Department for Capital Markets Supervision and the Department for Accounting and Auditing Supervision. It oversees the securities market, audit and external accounting, estate agencies and debt collection, along with prospectuses and financial reporting. The previous sections for prospectus control and financial reporting supervision are now merged under the title Section for Prospectuses and Financial Reporting. Supervision of the securities area is now assigned to three sections compared with the previous two sections. A new section responsible for supervision of collective investment schemes is established.
The Department, headed by Deputy Director General Anne Merethe Bellamy, comprises the following sections:

Collective Investment Schemes – Head of Section Britt Hjellegjerde
Securities Supervision – Head of Section Geir Holen

Estate Agencies and Debt Collection Firms – Head of Section Wilhelm Mohn Grøstad
Administration Department and staff functions
No changes are made to administrative support functions. Minor changes are made to certain staff functions.

There are no changes to Finanstilsynet's management team which as of 1 June comprises:
