Cessation of fees for fund marketing notifications

As of 1 October 2025, Finanstilsynet will no longer charge a registration fee or an annual fee for funds notified for marketing in Norway under the EEA passporting regime (AIFMD art. 32 and UCITS Directive art. 93). This change applies to notifications received after 30 September 2025 and covers UCITS, AIF, EuSEF, EuVECA and ELTIF funds.
ESMA maintains a central database for the cross-border marketing of UCITS and AIFs within the EEA, based on information provided by the national supervisory authorities. Details of funds notified for marketing in Norway by foreign fund managers will now only be available via ESMA’s register, as these funds will no longer be included in Finanstilsynet’s register.
You can access ESMA’s register of cross-border marketing of AIFs and UCITS.
Please note that Finanstilsynet will continue to charge a processing fee and corresponding annual fee for applications to market alternative investment funds in Norway under the national private placement regime (Article 36 and 42 of the AIFMD), as well as for applications from non-Norwegian AIFMs to market alternative investment funds to non-professional investors in Norway.
Finanstilsynet’s registry will continue to show funds authorised for marketing in Norway, in addition to all cross-border marketing of AIFs and UCITS managed by Norwegian fund managers.
