Finanstilsynet warns against HelpInNeedFinance

Finanstilsynet has received information about the entity HelpInNeedFinance, which contacts individuals who may previously have been victims of investment fraud.

In a communication that has come to Finanstilsynet’s attention, HelpInNeedFinance states that it has identified funds registered in the investor’s name that are allegedly linked to a previous customer relationship with the investment platform FXNovus. The entity further claims to have taken over these funds and requests additional information regarding the investor’s previous investments and losses.

This type of approach is typical of scams targeting previous fraud victims. Such actors contact individuals who have previously lost money through investments or investment fraud schemes and claim that they can help recover the lost funds. Experience shows that such offers are often fraudulent, and we frequently observe the misuse of names and telephone numbers to create credibility.

Finanstilsynet urges investors to exercise extreme caution if they are contacted unsolicited with offers of assistance in recovering lost investment funds. Investors should not make any payments or disclose personal information, bank account details, or information about previous investments without first thoroughly verifying the entity and its contact details.
