Finanstilsynet warns against Fjord Finance

Finanstilsynet warns against Fjord Finance and the website fjordfinance.no.

Fjord Finance presents itself as a trading platform for investments in shares and ETFs. The website describes, among other things, trading in financial instruments, custody of client funds, automated investing, securities lending, and portfolio margin lending.

Finanstilsynet would like to point out that Fjord Finance is not authorised to provide investment services in Norway. Finanstilsynet is also not aware of the company being registered as a tied agent of an investment firm. Consequently, Finanstilsynet does not supervise this business. The authorisation requirements for investment services are intended to provide investor protection. Investors should exercise extreme caution before entering into agreements with, or transferring money to, entities that offer investment services without the necessary authorisation.

Information about firms authorised to provide investment services in Norway can be found in Finanstilsynet's registry.

Finanstilsynet also publishes a list of entities operating without the necessary authorisation in its Investor alerts.
