Welcome to Finanstilsynet’s registry
Finanstilsynet’s registry contains information on all enterprises and individuals that are under Finanstilsynet’s oversight. The types of enterprises and individuals involved are listed in the Financial Supervision Act, section 1.
The registry includes Norwegian enterprises’ head offices and Norwegian branches of foreign enterprises. It does not include Norwegian enterprises’ regional offices.
The registry does not give information on enterprises who have notified cross-border servises into Norway. Nor does the registry give information on Norwegian enterprises’ branches in other countries. For information on these enterprises, please see investment firms, Payment Institutions (pdf) and credit institutions and insurance companies.
Information on authorisations to act as a nominee is not included in the registry. Please find information on nominee authorisations.
Auditors of companies incorporated in a country outside the EU whose transferable securities are admitted to trading on a regulated marked in Norway, shall be registered with the Financial Supervisory Authority of Norway. Information is not included in the registry, please see Register for third-country audit entities.
Please note that the addresses listed for enterprises are business addresses. For sole proprietorships and for individuals holding a personal authorisation, the address listed may be their home address. Contact details for enterprises and individuals are obtained, respectively, from the Central Coordinating Register for Legal Entities in Brønnøysund and from the National Population Register, which should be contacted if changes need to be made or errors corrected.
Enterprises and individuals whose license(s) or authorisation(s) have been withdrawn are not included in the registry. For further information, contact Finanstilsynet by phone on 22 93 98 00 or by e-mail at post@finanstilsynet.no.
The Personal Data Act, section 11, first paragraph, litra c, requires Finanstilsynet to ensure that data “are not used subsequently for purposes that are incompatible with the original purpose of the collection”. Please note, therefore, that personal data contained in the registry cannot be used for commercial purposes such as marketing etc.
