DNO affair handed to Økokrim by Kredittilsynet
Based on the information at hand, Kredittilsynet has opted to hand over responsibility for further work on the DNO affair to Økokrim for review and possible further action.
For several days now the media have commented on various aspects of transactions at DNO International ASA involving representatives of Iraq's self-governing Kurdish region.
Kredittilsynet has been aware of the issue for some time and has been kept informed throughout by Oslo Børs. After making some enquiries into the matter, Kredittilsynet opted at an early stage in the process to consult Økokrim.
Based on the information at hand, Kredittilsynet considers it appropriate to turn the matter over to Økokrim for closer assessment and possible further action. Behind this decision is the perception that the case may have ramifications beyond the bounds of securities law. Moreover, international police cooperation would by all appearances be the best way to clarify the circumstances surrounding the transactions in question at DNO.
