On Monday 21 December Kredittilsynet (Norway’s Financial Supervisory Authority) is to change its name to Finanstilsynet. It will at the same time relocate to new premises at Revierstredet 3 in the centre of Oslo.

Today Finanstilsynet presented its Risk Outlook Report for 2009 (Norwegian version). “Norwegian banks have emerged well from the financial crisis”, said Finanstilsynet’s Director General, Bjørn Skogstad Aamo, upon presenting the report.

The Ministry of Finance has decided that the operative control of prospectuses for transferable securities that is currently performed by Oslo Børs (Oslo Stock Exchange) will be transferred to Finanstilsynet with effect from 1 May 2010. This is an element of the transposition of common European legislation in the securities area. Finanstilsynet is preparing for the transition in close co-operation with Oslo Børs.
